Effective Clinical Supervision is a collaborative environment in which we can focus on your current practice, professional wellbeing and development.
I supervise individual, trauma focussed and couple work.
I have additional training in offering telephone and online therapy (chat/email/video). I’m happy to support therapists who work in this way. They have slightly different clinical requirements.
We recommend conducting supervision sessions similarly to how you offer therapy. Please check that you can attend in person at my address. This is important if you are working in person with clients.
If you offer a mix of online and in person therapy we can negotiate a mix in our sessions.
Practice description
I work using an integration of psychodynamic and systemic theory and practice, with individuals and couples.
I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor, Accredited EMDR Practitioner and EMDR Consultant in training.
Individual v Group Supervision
BACP therapists are required to have one to one clinical supervision for at least 90 minutes each month. Alternatively, they can spend the equivalent time in group supervision. I find it helpful to have both, as each method of supervision offers something different.
Individual supervision allows you to have my full focus in discussing your casework and professional development. Group supervision allows you to present and witness casework from the group. You benefit from seeing other ways of working. You also get to participate in shared clinical discussions.
I run a regular Wednesday morning online EMDR supervision group from 9am to 11.30am and will be adding groups as demand changes.
How to start
You can contact me via email, phone or using the form below to discuss availability. We would meet initially to determine if we would like to work together. At this point, we usually book in dates.
Types of therapy I supervise
EMDR, Humanistic, Integrative, Interpersonal, Narrative therapy, Person Centred, Psychodynamic, Relational, Solution Focussed brief therapy, Systemic, Transactional analysis, Transpersonal therapy
I value the time I spend with Armele discussing my work, as I integrate EMDR and psychosexual therapy.
— EMDR Therapist
Armele’s approach is supportive but she also challenges me to be the best therapist I can be. We talked about what I wanted to get from supervision right from the start. She checks in with me regularly.
